I lived alone in a house.

Nothing was wrong with it really, it gave me a place to live, sleep, cook, etc.

She asked if she could come over for an hour.

An hour turned into more.

A house is shelter, it keeps the rain off.

Recently I spent two and a half days on the bathroom floor.

I was in a house with a toilet, but I was at home because she was there.
