Easier way to post to my blog with comments already setup
PopsicleBoat is a discussion/forum site I’ve been working on for a few years. It’s basically a social media site (or can work as one) but without ads, subscriptions, tracking, any of the crap that has made the internet less enjoyable for those who remember how it used to be. You can make a content space, or post in an existing one. You can make it your platform for hosting comments on your blog or site with almost no effort. It’s got in-app text chat, video chat. Curious?
You create an account on PopsicleBoat, create and register an api key, and when you make a new post on your site you automatically get a comment section. Only if you want, per post, or not at all. You also own all the content, it’s a JSON file you own, do anything you want with. Optional, but you can use a copy of it yourself or let PopsicleBoat handle it. PopsicleBoat could vanish and you’d still have those comments.
I don’t know of any third party commenting system like this, which is why I built it.
The cool thing is you don't have to do much. Put the beans in (setup) and let the machine do the work.
It’s ad free, tracking free, matter of fact the whole spirit of it is to make the modern internet free of… well, lots of things. Just enjoyable again, but with the touch and niceties that technology advances afford. Like cool user and dynamic interfaces.
It’s a work in progress but it’s come a long way, and it just works. I’m using it for this post itself.
